ATTENTION: Student Parking Registration begins Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at 7:00am. Please review the following guidelines before applying. 1. Cost of Parking. The cost of student parking for the 2008-2009 academic year is $654 for all parking in both the main campus decks and the Clairmont Campus residential decks. 2. Parking Assignments are made on a first come, first serve basis after the following guidelines are applied: · Fishburne Deck will not be available for students this year due to the loss of the B. Jones lot and deck construction. · Lowergate South Deck assignments will continue for commuting second year graduate students and higher as space allows. · Peavine Deck assignments will include only undergraduate seniors, graduate students, and students with special needs. · Michael Street and Clairmont Campus (Starvine) Deck assignments will continue for both graduate and undergraduate students. · Decks and Lots adjoining student housing are for eligible residents only. These include Clairmont Residential Decks, Turman, Woodruff, Fraternity, and Sorority lots. · First Year students participating in their first complete year of academic study as an undergraduate in the 2008-2009 academic year are not allowed to register or to bring a vehicle on campus. 3. First Year Graduate school and Transfer Students. Incoming graduate and transfer students who have not been assigned a User ID and password may register on-line by choosing Option 2 below. Option 2 becomes available on April 30, 2008. This second option does require a 7 digit Emory ID number. 4. Apply for parking online. Students may register for parking for the 2008-2009 school year online at the Parking Office home page, http://www.epcs.emory.edu/park, from 7:00a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008 through Friday, August 15, 2008. Additionally, the application will be accessible in the first week of registration from the Emory home page and from Learnlink (Emory Announcements). The registration site requires a 128-bit encryption capable browser. All registrations over the web site will be time logged when received. The filing of multiple applications will result in a delay in processing the registration. On-line registration requires USER NAME, PASSWORD, and EMORY ID#. Please do not use mobile devices to log on to the site. You can test the online process from April 1 through April 10. Please do not bookmark the test registration pages. 5. Information required for online process. Applicants will be asked for the following: full name, Emory ID number (7 digits), email address (for confirmation), housing (on campus dorm or off campus), school/program, disability accommodation (Y/N), payment by student account, and preferences for parking location. Vehicle information is requested on the online form: make, model, primary color, license plate and state. Students must produce vehicle registration and Emory ID at the time of permit pick up. An email confirmation will be sent to the email address entered at the beginning of the on-line application. The confirmation message does not confirm a particular parking assignment. The form will not be available on the web site until April 16, 2008 at 7:00a.m. There will be no walk-in registration at the Parking Office for student parking. Students experiencing problems logging in may call the Parking Office at 404-727-6106 and be connected with a parking office representative. 6. Clairmont Campus residents are included in this registration and should select the Clairmont residential decks. 7. Housing Assignment. Students unsure of housing assignment for the 2007-2008 academic year should apply early to allow for eligibility for the greatest number of parking areas. A parking assignment to a lot adjacent to housing is made based on verification of housing assignment. 8. Campus Computers. Check to see that the computer lab or public workstation can be accessed at the start time. The computer lab at Cox Hall does not open until 9:00a.m. Parking & Community Services does not reserve computers at any campus location for parking registration. If a major system problem occurs on April 16, a new date will be set for the start of student parking registration. 9. Choose one on-line application option from the following: · Option 1: Current students utilize this option requiring User ID and password to the Emory network. · Option 2 (Available April 30th): Incoming students who do not yet have an Emory network ID and password should choose this option and enter the information requested (all fields are required). 10. Payment by Student Account. Payment associated with registering on-line will be made by charging your student account only. Student account charges will be posted in September 2008, immediately following the pickup of your permit. Parking charges must be paid within 30 days of posting. Please note that parking charges are not eligible for the payment plan and this charge may post after you have received an initial refund, if you are an aid recipient. 11. Study Abroad Students. Students currently studying abroad should register in this online process if matriculating in the fall. Students studying abroad either Fall or Spring semester of the 2008-2009 academic year should participate in this parking registration process for next year. If you are abroad the first semester, parking will hold your permit at Parking Services, 1701 Lowergate Drive, until you return in January and will charge you when you pick it up for approximately half a year. If you go abroad second semester, simply turn your permit in at the end of the first semester for a refund equal roughly to one half the cost of the permit.. 12. COMMUTE OPTIONS in place of regular parking are available to all Emory students and include those below. TIP! If unsure about whether you can use these options next year, apply for a regular parking permit on April 16 and swap out the permit if able to utilize a greener commute option when you return in the fall.
The foregoing information is briefly stated from the Transportation and Parking Rules which may be referenced from the Emory Parking Web site. 13. Permit Pick up Locations. During student registration and orientation for the fall semester in August 2008, students who have registered will be able to pick up their parking permits and decals at various locations throughout the campus. 14. Late Registration. After August 15, 2008, when the application on the web site is no longer available, students who have not registered may complete and receive a parking assignment at the Parking Office or register at one of the pick up locations provided that parking on campus is still available. 15. New Permits Effective 09/02/08. During the week of August 25, Peavine, Michael Street, Clairmont Campus (Starvine Way) and Clairmont Residential decks will remain open. However, on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, deck gates will be lowered and new student permits will be required to access parking decks. If you have any questions or difficulties with on-line registration, please call the Parking Office at 404-727-PARK.
